In 1993, Shannon Cavanagh-Estrada relocated from Oregon armed with passion and ambition. She worked for Sony Entertainment and Walt Disney Studios, immersed in feature film coordination. After several years of thriving on the fast pace and fierce competition of Hollywood, Shannon switched gears to the fashion industry in search of new challenges and adventures with a similar pulse.
Working her way up the fashion ladder, Shannon held positions as Marketing and Public Relations Director at such prominent Los Angeles based firms as Bisou-Bisou, JNCO, Jonathan Martin and HYPE. Using her knowledge and experience to develop marketing departments from the ground up, Shannon applied her expertise to becoming the authority in building local and national publicity campaigns, fashion consulting, trend forecasting, branding and public relations.
Shannon has always had a social tenacity and sparkle. In 2004, after 7 successful years as sole proprietor of full-service public relations firm, Bottled Blond Press Relations, Shannon teamed with Pam Roberts to create Pitch! Press. With a void in the market for affordable public relations that focuses exclusively on securing fashion editorial, designers came running. With more than 1,500 editorial credits later, editors admire and respect Shannon’s remarkable ability to respond to their needs, while designers love her honesty, hard work and proven track record.
Pam Roberts knew it had to be fashion — so by the late 60’s she started down the retail road. In 1972 Pam moved up the ranks as Fashion Events Coordinator for the retail giant, The Broadway.
By 1976 Pam was primed to become the first Fashion Director for The California Mart (aka California Market Center). During her 8 years at the mart, she had many accomplishments including the creation of Press Week — the yearly event continues to evolve today.
KABC-TV discovered Pam’s potential so in 1984 she began the next chapter of her career as Fashion and Lifestyle Reporter for Eyewitness News. Soon she was a regular contributor for AM Los Angeles, Eye On LA and co-hosted the nationally syndicated show, Fashion Report with Cristina Ferrare. In 1989 Pam joined Shop Television Network as fashion host for the 24-hour shopping channel owned by JC Penney’s.
After a break, Pam retuned to her career roots in 1997 when downtown building owners needed her expertise to reignite interest in L.A.’s garment district. During this time Pam realized the need for a new and improved PR service that would appeal to young designers. She joined forces with Shannon Estrada and together they formed Pitch! Press.
